Join us to celebrate Earth Day and be together at the exhibition closing - while enjoying a unique style of Brazilian Forró dance led by Pé Descalço Dance School. Participation welcomed.

Forró Dance involves a wordless conversation between the couple dancing and the music, resulting in perfect harmony. Our dance style is rich in movement and musicality and heavily influenced by ballroom dancing. Come and celebrate.

What is Forró?

The origin of this term is uncertain. There are two main theories. One is an English version; the English words “FOR ALL”, when pronounced by Brazilians, became FORRÓ. On the other hand, there is the term FORROBODO, which comes from FAUXBOURDON. What is important here is that Forró was created in the northeastern region of Brazil. This genuine cultural expression holds more than one meaning. Forró can refer to music genre, music rhythm, dance and party.

Where Is Lauderdale House | Highgate Hill, London

Lauderdale House was built in 1582 for two wealthy members of a radical religious community. During a time of religious turmoil, Richard and Dorcas Martin trod a fine line. They supported Queen Elizabeth I in public while undermining her in private.

Today it is a surprising mix of historic elegance and creative opportunities in this vibrant Tudor house in Waterlow Park, North London.
